Plain English. This page explains how I handle your data, what you agree to by using this site, and who owns what. It's written to be read, not to dodge anyone. If anything's unclear, ask me —
info@itsbenwild.com.
Privacy policy.
I'm based in Brisbane, Queensland, and I run itsbenwild.com as a sole operator. I handle your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). The basics:
What I collect.
- Email address — when you join the Wildlife (my email list).
- Name, email, and message content — when you send me a message through the contact form.
- Anonymous analytics — pages visited, device type, and country, collected via Google Analytics 4. No personally identifying information is shared with Google.
How I use it.
- To send you music updates, voice memos, early demos, and the occasional honest letter — only the emails you've opted into.
- To respond to enquiries you send through the contact form.
- To understand how the site is being used and make it better.
Who I share it with.
Your data is stored with a small number of trusted third-party providers, all of which have their own privacy policies and security standards:
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — stores your email address and any tags applied when you subscribe.
- Netlify — hosts the website and processes contact-form submissions.
- Google Workspace — handles my business email, so anything you send to info@itsbenwild.com sits inside a Google inbox.
- Google Analytics 4 — processes anonymous site-usage data.
Some of these providers may transfer data overseas (primarily to the United States). I don't sell, rent, or trade your data with anyone else.
Your rights.
Under the Privacy Act and the APPs, you can:
- Ask what personal information I hold about you
- Ask me to correct anything that's out of date or wrong
- Ask me to delete your data entirely
- Unsubscribe from any email list at any time using the link in the footer of every email
- Make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you think I've mishandled your data
For any of the above, email info@itsbenwild.com and I'll respond within a reasonable timeframe (usually within 30 days).
Email and the Spam Act 2003.
Every email I send to the Wildlife complies with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth): you've consented to receive it (by signing up and confirming via double opt-in), I identify myself as the sender, and every email has a working unsubscribe link. If you ever stop hearing from me by clicking unsubscribe and it doesn't work, let me know.
International visitors.
If you're in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to portability and the right to object to processing. Email info@itsbenwild.com to exercise them.
Terms of use.
By using itsbenwild.com, you agree to a few simple things:
- All content on this site — text, photos, design, and any music or audio I release here — is owned by me unless I've credited someone else.
- You're welcome to share links to the site and post images on socials for personal, non-commercial use, as long as you credit Ben Wild.
- You can't reproduce, redistribute, or commercially use anything from the site without my written permission. For licensing, sync, or press use, get in touch via info@itsbenwild.com.
- The site is provided as-is. I do my best to keep things accurate and online, but I can't guarantee zero downtime or zero errors.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be heard in Queensland courts.

One last note.
This page is written in plain English so people can actually read it. It's not formal legal advice, and it shouldn't be taken as a complete statement of every right you have or every obligation I have. If you need legal advice about your specific situation, talk to a qualified Australian solicitor.
If you spot anything that needs clarifying, drop a note to info@itsbenwild.com.
